Traditionally, on other platforms there are only two forms of status in a streamer’s channel: you’re either a subscriber, or you’re not. We all know this isn’t a full picture of someone’s loyalty and value to a streamer’s community. Your status in a community should represent more than just your financial contributions. That’s why we’re excited to roll out an early version of our Channel Progression system to all streamers on Mixer. Channel Progression aims to reward your entire engagement in a streamer’s community. This early version will be available on the Mixer.com desktop experience starting tomorrow (5/1), and will roll out to all platforms in the coming weeks.
Since including Channel Progression in our Season 2 announce back in November, we’ve been eager and excited to get this feature into the hands of our community. We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback!
Let’s dive in deeper below.
What is Channel Progression?
Channel Progression lets you rank up in a stream by “watching”, “chatting”, “following”, “subscribing” and more. In the future, we expect there to be additional benefits unlocked at different ranks. You can see your rank by clicking the “Your Rank” button at the bottom left hand corner of the chat box.
What actions can I reward in my stream?
Starting tomorrow, earning and ranking up for “following,” “watching” and “chatting” will be enabled on all Mixer channels. Mixer Partners will be able to reward additional monetization actions like “subscribing”, gift subscriptions and Embers spend. Since this is an early version of the experience, we’re evaluating additional actions and would love to hear feedback and ideas from the community here.
What customization options do I have as a streamer?
Customization is something we’re experimenting with, but we don’t have anything to share beyond that. If you have any feedback, feel free to drop us a line here.
