New Improvements to Mixer Clips

At Mixer, we know how important it is to be able to capture and share your favorite moments with your community. Today, thanks to your feedback, we are excited to share a couple of great new improvements to the Clips experience on Mixer, making it easier to control who can clip on Mixer Partner channels and how you share your best moments.

Channel Progression Rank Access

One of the biggest pieces of feedback we’ve gotten is that Partners want more control over who can create clips for their channel. Starting today, Partners will be able to expand clip creation access to all viewers or gate the ability to clip behind a specific channel progression rank. For example, a Partner can now customize their channel to only enable community members at rank 30 or above to clip, ensuring that only more regular viewers can clip in their specific channel. We know that having clip creation available to every viewer can sometimes produce out-of-context or low-quality clips, and we believe in giving partners more control of their community. Partners can modify these settings at https://mixer.com/dashboard/channel/clips.

Better Clip Previewing and Trimming

Another piece of feedback we’ve gotten is you want more control over editing clips. Beginning today, when a viewer starts to create a clip on the web, they will be able to trim to a specific section and preview the clip before publishing. Clips can be trimmed to a minimum of 15 seconds and a maximum of 60s. This will enable creators to generate higher quality clips that focus right on the action without the guesswork.

To access the new clips experience, just navigate to a Partner’s stream and click the new clips icon. For a short time, this new icon will be next to the old clips icon to ensure a quality experience as we roll the new system out fully.

These changes are possible thanks to feedback from our fans and Partners, and we’re so excited to see your new clips in action.
